Former Thunderbird Borya Valis (’04) Signs NHL Contract with Toronto Maple Leafs
Colorado Thunderbird alumnus Borya Valis (’04) has signed a 3-year entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League.
Borya played six full seasons with the Colorado Thunderbird organization, starting as a 11U and 12U player in 2015/2016 where he represented the TBirds at the Quebec Pee Wee International Tournament. He rose through the Tbird ranks from 11U to his final season with the club in 2021, where he led our 16U program to a runner-up finish at the USA Hockey National Championships. Borya’s standout season at 16U culminated in 88 points in 60 games, including a stunning 51-goals in the campaign. The 6’2, 195lb right handed forward was then signed by the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League.
Borya’s WHL career has spanned 236 games since 2021 and he’s amassed an impressive 216 points.
Borya Valis went undrafted in 2022, but participated in the prospect development camp for the Detroit Red Wings.
