Phil Patenaude

18U Head Coach, Head of Operations - CEP Level 4

Coach Patenaude is entering his 3rd season as head of the 18U program and 5th overall with the Thunderbirds organization, previously serving as head coach of our 2021 District Champion 14U team. He is the current Colorado Thunderbirds Head of Operations.

Phil is a Montreal, Quebec native and relocated early to Denver, playing his 16 and 18U seasons for the Thunderbirds. Patenaude moved on to play junior hockey in the KIJHL for the Nelson Leafs before entering the BCHL, where he played for the 2010 Trail Smoke Eaters and the 2011 BCHL and Doyle Cup Champion Vernon Vipers. Coach Patenaude began his coaching career shortly after junior hockey, joining Littleton Hockey Association as their Director of Player Development and Assistant Director of Hockey prior to joining the Thunderbirds staff in 2020-2021.

Phil currently resides in Parker with his wife Megan and their two dogs, Youppi and Kane.
