Season Tryouts

Thunderbird Midget Tryout Process

(15/16/18 - 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007)

Phase 1 Tryouts - April 9-11

Training Camp - April 14 - May 15

Players that advance will participate in "Training Camp" where players will skate and workout 3 days a week together preparing and vying for the final spots on the team.

We have adapted our tryout process this year because of the changes in USA hockey rules in addition to adapting to the competitive tier 1 landscape across the country.  Additionally, we have introduced the training camp concept to accomplish THE FOLLOWING goals:

  • Provide players with the best possible opportunity to make our fall USA hockey National tournament bound teams
  • Provide multiple exposure opportunities to our coaches and environment Give players the opportunity to experience what the Thunderbird Development Process looks like first hand
  • Grow and develop in a competitive OFF SEASON TRAINING environment
  • To BUILD the most competitive and cohesive Thunderbird Fall teams as possible

Phase 2 tryouts - May 16-18

Team and final players will be participate in two practices and two exhibition games vs the Rampage. After which the final teams will be decided.

Bantam Tryout Process

(13 & 14 - 2012, 2011)

Bantam Tryouts April 11-12

Players that advance will participate in "Training Camp" where players will skate and workout in 5 sessions preparing and vying for the final spots on the team.

Training Camp - April 14 - April 30

Players that advance will participate in "Training Camp" where players will skate 8 times together, preparing and vying for final spots on the team.

Minnesota Stars & Stripes - May 2-4

Players will travel to Minnesota where the team and final players will be participate in games against top competition from across the country in players final opportunity to make the team. After this event the team will be selected.

**Participation in the Stars & Stripes is encouraged, NOT Required**
