Scott Meyer

Scott Meyer leads goaltender development for the Colorado Thunderbirds, bringing NCAA Division I, professional hockey and championship coaching experience to the organization’s youth hockey and USA Hockey Development League programs.

An All-American goaltender at St. Cloud State University, Meyer helped the Huskies win their first WCHA Final Five championship in 2001. He played professionally with the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack and ECHL’s Charlotte Checkers, earned ECHL All-Star recognition and dressed as a backup goaltender for the NHL’s New York Rangers.

Meyer’s coaching career includes helping the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders win the USHL’s Anderson Cup and Clark Cup. He also served as head coach, general manager and president of the NAHL’s Minnesota Magicians, gaining extensive experience in player development, evaluation and recruiting.

Working alongside Thunderbirds team coaches, Meyer supports goalies through individualized instruction and guidance. His experience and relationships in junior hockey help Colorado goaltenders and their families understand the development pathway toward junior and college hockey.
