This summer, something exciting is rolling into town, and it is not your typical hockey league. The Colorado Thunderbirds AAA Hockey program is bringing the fast-paced, high-energy world of NHL Street to your community. Whether your child is picking up a stick for the first time or already dreaming of the big leagues, this 6-week street hockey experience is built for fun, skill-building, and unforgettable moments.

What to Expect

Every session packs a punch with 25 minutes of skill development to sharpen their game and 25 minutes of live play where the action comes alive.

Program Format

Each session is designed to be fun, fast-paced, and easy to fit into your summer schedule.

6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U Divisions

Each session includes:

  • 15-minute warm-up and skill development session

  • Two 18-minute run-time games of cross-rink 3v3 street hockey

14U Division

Each session includes:

  • Two 25-minute run-time halves of cross-rink 3v3 street hockey

All divisions will play once a week on Sundays.

WHEN IS IT?

All happening once a week on Saturdays, perfect for summer fun without overwhelming your schedule.

SUMMER LEAGUE - Season runs July 26 to August 30.

AGE DIVISION

What's Needed

Required Equipment

Players are required to have the following:

  • Stick

  • Running shoes

  • Protective cup or Jill

  • NHL STREET team shirt

Don't have a stick? No problem! Sticks are available for purchase!

Goalie Equipment

Goalies* need the following:

  • Leg pads

  • Glove and blocker

  • Chest pad

  • Goalie mask

*Goalie equipment will be provided for all 6U and 8U teams. These age groups will not have designated goalies, giving players the opportunity to rotate through the position and experience playing goalie throughout the season.

Teams in the 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions are required to have a registered goalie.

Optional Equipment

Optional equipment includes:

  • Helmet with cage

  • Gloves

  • Shin guards

Skates, elbow pads, shoulder pads, and ice hockey pants are not permitted.
